Went to a very informative seminar last night ...
Guest speaker was Mr Derek Jackson very awesome man he knows what he talks about .
So the main aim of this seminar was to find out why boys are so difficult, and this is what the conclusions was ....
Boys are from Mars and girls are from Venus.

  • you must not try and protect your kids and close them off in a "cocoon' they need to experience life
  • if your children come home from daycare/day mother and they have a torn shirt don't be upset be glad they were kids 
  • Sibling rivalry - let children sort themselves out unless it turns too aggressive then parents should step in.
  • Dads should get in touch with their feminine side and moms should get in touch with their masculine side... to understand kids better.
  • Get a sand timer to get kids to make a game of daily tasks.
  • Buy your child the toy gun after all if he does not have one he will use his hand and make a gun its ok and its part of growing up 
  • Moms feel guilty for working everyday but we are trying to give our children all we can and a better life so we are AWESOME for working.
  • Watch Barney most life lessons can be learned from the show ..remember

  • When you get home the 1st 30 minutes should be spend with your kids , making food can wait all other thing are less important as your kids should come first 
  • And if boys want to play with the sisters dolls and sisters want to play with their brother cars let them it is all about growing 
  • Bullying is also part of growing up and a child should learn to stand up for him/herself - a example if a 3 year old is taking another 3 year old toys teach your child to put his hand up and say to the other child : Stop you are not taking this toys i am playing with it and the other child will soon get the message.
  • If a child throws a tantrum ignore the child put some music on and walk away when he is finished (remember this might take about a few hours for some) then say to him give me a hug and he will soon realize it is not OK to do and he will realize that he wont get negative attention. But remember you have to keep this up every time the child has a tantrum fit.
  • Remember to play with your kids after all you were little once as well.
All i want to say is be the best parent that you can be ..... and remember to always take photos they grow up so fast and before you know it your old and your kids are big and your forgot to enjoy them when they were small.
